Organisational Update

Parent to Parent is currently undergoing a period of change, so therefore our waiting list is temporarily closed and we cannot accept any new referrals at this time.

Due to the recent government budget changes to Employers National Insurance contribution increase along with a range of funding constraints, we have had to make some very difficult decisions, which has resulted in a reduction of what supports we can offer.

We have undergone an evaluation and review of our support offer, and have agreed that going forward we will be offering a ‘whole family approach’ via our Family Support and Advocacy Teams across Tayside, rather than a separate Family (Parent) support and an additional Young Person support.  Research has evidenced that there is a great deal of support being offered to schools via a range of agencies, and we felt that we are better placed to be offering a comprehensive support to families within their homes and local communities.  Unfortunately, one of the most difficult constraints we have found is no access to funding to continue our Neonatal support, however going forward we will be offering a level of support once again via our Family Support Teams, with a view to enhance this as more access to funding is identified.

All affected families, young people and stakeholders and staff have been individually communicated with and every effort is being made to ensure that they are supported through this very difficult time.
